Indra 2015: Russian Army Contingent Arrives for Indo-Russia Joint Exercise
JAIPUR: A Russian Army contingent arrived today in Rajasthan's
Bikaner district to participate in the Indo-Russia joint training
Exercise 'INDRA-2015'.
The local Indian Army formation led by Col N Prashanth, Contingent
Commander Indian Battalion, welcomed the guests and the soldiers of the
two nations exchanged greetings, according to Defence spokesperson Lt
Col Manish Ojha.
The 250-strong Army contingent of Russia led by Maj Gen Sergey N
Legotin, Commander, Independent Motorised Brigade will take part in the
joint military exercise, comprising the same numbers from the Indian
counterpart for next 14 days in Mahajan field firing range in Bikaner,
Ojha said.
The joint exercise between the two nations is one of the major bilateral
defence cooperation activities and is the seventh in the series which
commenced in 2003.
The Russian contingent is scheduled to return to their country after the
exercise comes to an end on November 20, he said in a release.
